Ferry decision

-

Sir, I’m absolutely delighted that Mr Yousaf has seen reason and listened to the majority on this. The ferry has been part of Ardrossan for 182 years, it is part of the town’s identity and right that it remains on our shores. But it should be noted that many in the community did not give support for the status quo.

I’ve had many people contact me with extremely valid concerns over the service and its reliability.

I believe that retaining Ardrossan was the best move. Peel Ports and North Ayrshire Council have committed to spending £15 million into improving the mainland harbour which will help a great deal in tackling the issues of reliability with the current ferry service.

The Ardrossan-Arran ferry has served us for 182 years and I look forward to the next 182!” Andrew Brown Political Aide to Jamie Greene MSP
