Arran Dark lifts gold at awards

-

Arran Brewery has won a gold award at the SIBA National Craft Beer Awards.

Arran Dark took the award in the keg competition and, for second year in a row, Scottish beers dominated the awards by winning big. Supreme champion gold went to William Brothers for Williams Dark while Swannay Brewery took silver for Island Hopping. Fyne Ales took a gold in the bottled beer category.

Other Scottish breweries picking up awards were: Strathaven Ales, Alchemy Brewery, Loch Lomond Brewery, Wolf Brewery, and the Edinburgh Beer Factory.

Gerald Michaluk from Arran Brewery said: ‘Arran only had one beer in the competition and to win gold for our Arran Dark in keg is fantastic as it won CAMRA Scottish Champion, in its category, for its cask version. Hats off to our brewing team.

’The achievement of Scottish breweries as a whole is outstanding. For the second year in a row, Scottish Craft brewers are showing the way and punching well above our weight in the national market place.’
