A penny saved is a penny earned for primary pupils

-

Brodick primary P7s recently held a fundraising event for their summer trip which saw a line of pennies extending from the bridge near the ferry terminal and along the promenade towards the Co-op.

Pupils who held the event are part of a group of P7s across the island who will take an end of primary school trip to Kingswood in Hexham where they will enjoy an adventure of a lifetime at the residential centre that focuses on educational learning using adventure and physical activities. With donations provided by bemused pedestrians, the Co-op, Little Rock and Denise Bodie of the Arran Active haberdashery store, the children raised £450 towards their trip. The young participants all enjoyed being involved in the fun outdoor activity and even the labour intensive task of counting and bagging up all of the donations.

Organisers, teachers and pupils thanked everyone who contributed and donated money or time towards the very successful and enjoyable event.
