Southend win kick-starts season

Southend Football Club celebrate a successful start to the football season with a 5-2 win over Lamlash Football Club in the first Arran Haulage Cup final. Captain Danny Head and Southend manager Lee Russell were presented with the trophy by sponsor and supporter Rachel Armitage. For more football, see pages 22 and 24.
