Cartoon fox cub Rab has an Arran adventure.
Until recently the cunning fox was a non-existent sight on Arran but, thanks to an illustrator and writer, Mr Fox, in the form of young cub Rab, is set to take the island by storm this summer.
Before farmers start reaching for their guns, rest assured … Rab is but a mere figment of children’s author, Linda Mochrie’s rich imagination.
She has written a great value little book, priced at £6.90 and aimed to be a pocket money buy, about Rab, the fox cub, who got himself to Arran purely by accident.
Richly illustrated by Tony van Breugel, Linda’s wee book Rab’s Arran Adventure makes excellent reading for young and old.
Tony’s pictures not only accompany Linda’s story and verse, but also include recognisable Arran vistas.
Both Linda and Tony have close connections with Whiting Bay and together they have produced a great addition to Arran’s unique appeal.
The 28-page colourful book of rhyme and imagery is exclusive to Arran and will shortly be available in local shops as well as on the ferry to Ardrossan.
Whether a native or a keen visitor to the island, this book is an enjoyable read for one and all.
