Lucy’s glorious garden fundraiser

-

Little Lucy Blair’s idea to sell driveway drinks to raise money for charity has grown into a grand garden party.

Lucy, aged nine, has sadly lost two close relatives to cancer and her 49-year- old godfather has a brain tumour.

On Sunday May 28 there will be an open garden event in Corrie when six gardens open their gates to the public and the Arran Pipe Band will play on the Sandstone Quay as a finale.

Mum Sarah said: ‘I suggested to Lucy that, as we have a stunning garden created by the previous owners of our house, maybe it would be safer to get people to come in to see the gardens and have tea, coffee and homebaking.

‘We contacted some of our neighbours who very generously have agreed to open their gardens to help raise more money for Lucy’s cause, which is Cancer Research.

‘I am very proud of my daughter and her caring and determined attitude.’
