School swimming gala is a super splashing success
Arran primary pupils made all their best strokes in the annual school swimming gala.
There was barely standing at the Auchrannie hotel swimming pool last week due to the number of supporters and parents cheering on their children.
More than 100 primary pupils swam under the watchful eye of race supervisor and starter Sally Hunter, along with Archie McNicol, Julie McGhee and head teacher Barry Smith. Taking home the most trophies and the champion trophies were Julie Hamill of Shiskine Primary for the second year running and Ruaridh Lindsay-Smith of Lamlash Primary.
Thanked
Organisers thanked all of the participants, teachers and the Auchrannie Hotel for hosting the event and said a special thank you to Frazer Mckenzie and Active Schools young leader Eilidh Hamill for their support.
