Mobile banking van comes to an abrupt halt

The Royal Bank of Scotland van that serviced Arran will be scrapped this July.

An RBS spokesperson said: ‘We are committed to serving our customers on Arran and continue to assess how we can do this best.

‘As more people move towards using online banking the number of customers using our mobile branch service on the island has fallen.

‘We’ve had to take the difficult decision to close the mobile van service on the island but continue to serve our customers in branch and at the Post Office.’
