When you are designing a new house, you put a lot of energy into the design and initial build of your home, and the interior design is often left until towards the end of the process. Suddenly you need to make decisions on the interior design. It can be quite daunting to have to think about how to really make the most of your beautiful new home. You want to get it right, but you’re faced with concrete and bare plaster and yet more decisions to make. One client was in a such a positition and turned to us for some help and inspiration. She had plenty of experience in doing up previous homes, but really needed help to clarify and consolidate her ideas for doing a whole house in one go. She brought the house plans to us and had already decided on the colour of her kitchen. We talked about how the house would be used, how she wanted it to feel and the ideas she already had. We designed a concept mood board for her with ideas for colours, textures, fabrics, finishes, paint and lighting. We gave her ideas on how the space could be used, introduced the idea of painted wood panelling for the walls in the dining area, and offered thoughts on furniture layout. This gave her the confidence to make decisions and take the design forward. We provided some principal lighting and some soft furnishings and then the client was happy to source other items herself and to undertake the decorating. Several months down the line and the house is looking wonderful and the client is absolutely thrilled. We are very happy to work with people at any stage of the design process. We can provide as much help as needed, be that simply delivering concept mood boards to managing the entire process and sourcing fixtures, furniture and furnishings.
