Arran Sportive is back next month
The Arran Sportive is returning this year on September 9, bigger and better than before.
This exciting 56-mile charity cycle around the island will be filled with fast-flowing roads, lung-busting climbs and exhilarating descents, promising to be a fun and thrilling event.
After you have completed this challenging and beautiful road cycle, Visit Arran will have a barbecue up and running with delicious local produce while Arran Brewery have some of their own local beverages on offer too. There may even be buskers and prizes.
The Arran Sportive is a charity event organised by and in aid of Ocean Youth Trust Scotland. OYT Scotland is an organisation which helps over 550 young people each year from all backgrounds and abilities gain valuable leadership, teamwork and communication skills as well as other beneficial qualifications and experiences through sailing.
If you don’t fancy the challenge of cycling round Arran yet still want to help support this worthy charity, why not become a volunteer? The Arran Sportive are still looking for enthusiastic people to help on the day with registration, water stations, marshalling and many other jobs. To become a volunteer, email Rhona at rhona@oytscotland.org.uk.
