Op­por­tu­nity for young deaf job-seek­ers

Young peo­ple from Ar­ran who are deaf or hard of hear­ing are be­ing of­fered the op­por­tu­nity to at­tend a free one-day, work­ing safely course.

The course, which is be­ing run by the charity Ac­tion on Hear­ing Loss Scot­land’s Mov­ing On ser­vice in Glas­gow be­tween 9.30am and 4.30pm on Tuesday 19 September, is open to deaf peo­ple aged 16 to 25 who are in­ter­ested in gain­ing a recog­nised health and safety qual­i­fi­ca­tion for their CV.

The Mov­ing On ser­vice’s em­ploy­ment ad­vi­sors, who sign to a high stan­dard in Bri­tish Sign Lan­guage (BSL) and are fully deaf aware, help to build the con­fi­dence of young peo­ple and sup­port them to gain vi­tal work and life skills.
