The Funeral of The Lady Jean Fforde
Charles Fforde, his wife Linda Rose and son Marcus would like to thank everybody who attended the funeral of his mother, Lady Jean, on Monday at Brodick Church and those who came to Strabane afterwards for their show of appreciation and support.
Special thanks to the Reverend Angus Adamson for such a moving service and wonderful tribute, fully recognising my mother’s commitment to the island and everyone living here. Also to Marri MacInnes for travelling to the island specially to fulfil my mother’s request that she sing at her departing.
Words cannot express our gratitude (and awe) that Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd should postpone the long-awaited opening of their new ferry terminal and we fully recognise the hours of work that must have gone into their planning of that event and the inconvenience of invited VIPs, to whom our thanks also reach out.
Thanks also to Hendry Funeral Services for their very attentive assistance and to Gator Kerr and Murray Boal for all their work, which, although unseen, made the whole day possible.
Many others, who know who they are, helped in so many ways and our thanks go to them in equal measure.
Finally, it would have absolutely thrilled my mother had she known that contributions to the Arran Youth Foundations topped £1,900 as of Tuesday evening. Thank you all so very much.
