Susan lifts Drumadoon Trophy in tight match
A total of 15 ladies played in the Arran Ladies’ Golf Union Drumadoon competition at Shiskine on Saturday February 24 on a cold but dry day with some sunshine.
The top three players all scored 73 but, after the countback calculations were worked out, Susan was the winner. 1 and scratch Susan Butchard 8310=73 BIH, 2 Mary Jo Tod 97-24=73 BIH, 3 Kema Genda 85-12=73.

Fixture: Sunday March 4, final round of AGA Duncan Trophy, shotgun start at 10am. Brodick v Lamlash, holes one to four, Whiting Bay v Shiskine, holes five to eight, Machrie Bay v Corrie, holes 15 to 18. No Sweep due to shotgun start.

Sunday February 25, Winter Cup, round three. On a glorious morning, 12 competed which, in true WBGC style, was played six weeks after round four. After a few days of dry weather, the course was playing well although tricky greens resulted in CSS going out to 66, reductions only. The winner on that score was David Brookens, who pipped Jamie McKechnie on the better inward half. 1 David Brookens 11, 66 BIH, 2 Jamie McKechnie 7, 66, 3 John Pennycott 13, 67, 4 Ronnie Mann 13, 70.
After four rounds, the overall leader is Graeme Crichton with a threeround total of 199. There will be two rounds to be played in March. Keep an eye on the website, Facebook and the club noticeboard for further details.
