Road residents given new giant TV

-

Residents of McKelvie Road Sheltered Housing Association were overjoyed after their fundraising efforts for a new television for their communal room were met with a single donation from Auchrannie Resort.

Appeal

After approaching local businesses and organisations in an appeal to upgrade their small, old television in a communal lounge, the group were gifted a 55-inch HD TV which is ideally suited for the 20 residents who reside in the sheltered housing complex.

General manager of Auchrannie Resort Richard Small said: ‘When we heard about the proposed fundraising activity for a new TV, we were only too happy to step in to fund the purchase outright. Everyone here at Auchrannie recognises the value of supporting community projects such as one like this.’

Collecting the television on behalf of residents, Veronica Cranwell said: ‘We were overwhelmed when Auchrannie offered to buy us a television. To say it has made a difference is an understatement. Everyone just loves it. Auchrannie really did come to our rescue.’

Since taking delivery of the television – which is in use every day – there are now plans for film nights and gatherings, all of which have helped to give the communal room a new lease on life.

Charity team

Auchrannie has a dedicated charity team who meet monthly to consider the many requests they receive for donations and other support. They can be contacted via email at charity@auchrannie.co.uk.
