Southend inflicted their biggest ever defeat against Shiskine in the other game of the night.

The away team have to be credited for fulfilling the fixture as they had a very depleted squad which included two poor guys having to be plucked from the Kinloch Hotel bar to make the trip to Whiting Bay.

The goal scorers for Southend were Lewis Kennedy with 4, Ryan Armstrong 2, Donald Park 2, Stephen Judge 2, James Mutch 2, Gregor Crichton, Corey Allen, Liam Bremner and James Currie.

A special mention to young William Sillars who had gone to watch his dad Willie play for Southend but ended up coming on in the second half for Shiskine to make his debut up against his old man. A definite player in the making.

It was another youngster, 14-year-old James Currie, who picked up his fourth man-of-the-match title of the season.

An amazing achievement for someone so young who seems to grow in confidence with every game he plays.

Scott Currie from the BBC will be coming to Arran on Monday July 30, to film football on Arran.

He aims to look at football in rural island communities and he will also touch on Arran’s bid to get into an Ayrshire league.

In the Monday fixtures Northend will take on Brodick at 7pm while Shiskine will face Lamlash at 6.30pm.
