Rose Room will bring gypsy jazz to Arran

-

Music Arran, previously the Isle of Arran Music Society, presents another exciting concert in Whiting Bay Hall on Friday September 28 at 7.30pm.

If anyone was there in August to hear Swing 2018, Seonaid Aitken, who sang with them, is returning with well-known Jimmy Moon, performing with Rose Room.

Scottish Jazz Award finalists Rose Room have become one of Scotland’s leading ensembles influenced by the gypsy jazz genre. Sharing a love of Swing music and the style of the great Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grapelli, their ‘vigorous and vivacious’ performances go ‘down a storm’ with audiences as they serve up their 1930s hot club standards, gypsy jazz favourites and self-penned originals, with virtuosity, verve and panache recreating the excite- ment of Rive Gauche Paris.

‘Rose Room swing harder then an elm tree in a force nine English gale,’ said Shetland News. ‘The Hottest ticket in Scotland right now,’ said Jazz Scotland.

So if anyone missed award winning violinist and sophisticated songstress Seonaid Aitken and Swing 2018 in August, here is the chance to hear her with Rose Room. If you were there, well you can’t have too much of a good thing.

Bring a bottle and some friends to Whiting Bay Hall and settle down for a great Friday night of music. Tickets from Inspirations or arranevents or on the door are £10, with children and young people at school, and an accompanying adult free.
