Hat-trick Archie settles the score against Celtic

-

Irvine No 1 CSC 2 Isle of Arran 4

Arran gained revenge for an earlier defeat at home to the Celtic boys from Irvine with on-form striker Archie McNicol netting another hat-trick and playmaker Johnny Sloss getting his maiden goal in the red and black. The fitness coaching from Laura Aitcheson looks like it has been paying off for some of the players as their performance against Irvine Celtic was very physical and they appeared to be dominating for most of the game.

The only negative was what looked like a soft red card for William Sillars near the end of the match as Arran conceded a penalty at 4-1 with the last kick of the ball, which Irvine scored for a second goal.

Man of the match was Donald Park for an outstanding shift in the middle of the park, breaking up play and creating chances for his fellow players.

In other news the club have signed former Southender Nick Emsley as they look to bolster their pool of mainland players in case of ferry cancellations over the winter period.

The club have also expressed gratitude for a generous donation from the Arran Society of Glasgow. The much-appreciated funds will be used for equipment and expenses.

The next game for Arran will be another away game with a trip to Pennyburn Park, Kilwinning to face Galston SAFC on Sunday with a 2pm kick off.
