Fundraiser Lee is taking a little walk round Arran

-

A well-known islander is returning to Arran next week for a charity walk that will see him walking around the entire coast in two days.

Lee Little who now lives in Ayr, but whose dad Allan still lives in Whiting Bay, is expecting to complete the 55mile route in 18 to 20 hours and the proceeds raised for the walk will be in aid of Cancer Research UK, Ayrshire Hospice and Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.

Lee is no stranger to fundraising or physical exertion, having climbed Goatfell twice in one day last year as part of a work’s charity group called Buzzworks Giving Back. Lee and his colleagues have raised more than £40,000 for their nominated charities so far.

The walk around Arran which will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday has a goal set to raise £500 through donations.

Lee said: ‘Training is in full swing and my legs are like jelly after a decent paced 11-mile walk. I will need to get to about five times that distance but the three amazing charities I am raising for makes all the effort worthwhile.

‘Keep an eye out for me on the road and feel free to beep the horn when you see me in my bright pink t-shirt. Any help for these worthwhile charities will be gratefully appreciated.’

Anyone who wishes to support Lee can donate through his fundraising page which can be found at https://uk.gofundme.com/walk-around-arran
