Air source heat pump – is it right for your home?

- By Norman Paterson DipDEA

How you heat your home it is one of the most important decisions you will make.

Get it wrong and you could end up with high bills or an uncomfortable house.

If you are on the gas grid, the choice is simple. You install a mains gas boiler.

However, if you are off the grid, weighing up the options is difficult.

Electric heating can be the most expensive method. Oil and LPG involve deliveries with high fluctuations in price.

So, it is great to be able to offer customers an option that can be as cheap to run as mains gas and with all the modern heating controls people expect.

In the past two years, we have fitted 65 of these systems on Arran alone.

So, when deciding if an air source heat pump is a suitable alternative, there are the five things to consider:

1. How much will it cost to install?

2. How much of a grant will you get from the Renewable Heat Incentive?

3. How much will it cost a year to run?

4. How much money will I save compared to my existing system?

5. Is my home suitable for an air source heat pump?

We provide all the answer to these questions in the form of a comprehensive Home Report so you can decide in your own time if this system is for you.

There is no cost for this nor are you under any obligation.
