Lamlash hosts first joint prize-giving
Saturday November 9, at the suggestion of the club captain, Paul Jameson, the ladies and gentlemen held a joint prize-giving and dinner at the clubhouse. This was a first and it proved to be a success with a very good turnout and happy atmosphere. Caterer Martin provided an attractive and varied buffet with something for everyone from soup to savoury to sweet.
Paul and ladies’ captain Sheena Murchie presented the large number of trophies alternately with surprising efficiency. The trophies awarded included: Ladies’ champion, Susan Butchard, Men’s champion, Todd Jameson, Fleet Cup, a muchprized trophy, Neil Young and Kate McAdam respectively, Scratch Cup, Dougie McFarlane, Centenary Tray: Sheena Murchie.
Other winners included
Ruth Hardy, Ian Bremner, Lee Dunton, Derek Harrison, Paul Jameson, Scott Campbell, Serge El Adm, Robert Calder and Alastair Crawford.

Sunday November 10, Glenburn Cup. 1 Dougie Macfarlane 62-2=60, 2 Serge El Adm 77-15=62. Magic twos, D Macfarlane at 13th and 16th. Best Scratch, D Macfarlane 62.

Sunday November 10, Winter Cup round two. Eight played on a fine morning and made such a good job of it that the CSS came down to 62. Jamie Macpherson, having netted a creditable 63 in the first round, improved his standing for the cup with a fine 61 to win by one stroke from John Pennycott. 1 Jamie Macpherson 5, 61; 2 John Pennycott 14, 62 acb; 3 Graeme Crichton 13, 62.
