Spring Fest is latest event postponed

-

The Arran Spring Fest, due to be held by Arran Eco Savvy at Balmichael Glamping today (Saturday), is the latest victim of the coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement the organisers said: ‘We are very sad to announce that we have had to make the very difficult decision to put Spring Fest on hold.

Difficulty

‘Everyone will be well aware of the escalating situation with COVID-19. We have concluded that mitigation efforts to ensure the protection of all involved will not be possible, largely due to the difficulty in sourcing essentials such as hand sanitiser to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

‘We have also taken into consideration changing government advice and the likelihood of future gatherings and events being cancelled. We are postponing the event to also avoid financial implications for the wonderful food producers and event partners involved, many of whom would be ordering and preparing food in anticipation for Saturday.’

Tom and Emma Jessop of Balmichael Glamping said: ‘Although we are disappointed not to be welcoming everyone to Spring Fest here at Balmichael Glamping, we fully support the decision taken.

‘Arran Eco Savvy has a wonderful event planned and we look forward to hosting this at a future date.’

Stay safe

The team added: ‘Please be assured that the event is postponed not cancelled, so stay tuned for a new date once things become a little more clear. Thank you for your understanding and support.

‘Stay safe and be savvy!’
