The Great Food Guys visit Arran
A fresh series of The Great Food Guys, with Nick Nairn and Dougie Vipond, is back on the TV with its third episode this weekend, which includes a visit to Arran.
In this series, which was filmed before lockdown, the duo are celebrating the fantastic range of food and drink Scotland has to offer from their country kitchen in Fettercairn, Aberdeenshire.
Dougie said: ‘We are back at our countryside kitchen to cook some great food inspired by our road trips.’
In this episode of this eight-part series, they focus on plant-based food and on the menu is a Buddha Bowl with Cauliflower Rice and Onion Bhajis. Joining then in the kitchen are vegetable grower Bryde Marshall from the Falkland Kitchen Farm in Fife and Still Game actress Jane McCarry who selects a ginger wine to accompany the food.
Dougie and Nick will also be seen out with the Food
Van tempting locals to some tasty fayre in St Andrews and Ayr. And Dougie will have reports on beetroot growing on Arran and barley growing at the James Hutton Institute near Dundee.
Other guests who will feature later in the series are comedian farmer Jim Smith, TV presenter JJ Chalmers, Call the Midwife’s Laura Main, River City’s Sanjeev Kohli and weather presenter Judith Ralston.
The Great Food Guys, which is produced by BBC Studios The Documentary Unit Scotland, goes out on BBC One on Saturday mornings at 11.30am, with Arran featuring tomorrow. The series is also on the BBC Scotland channel on Thursday nights at 8pm.
