Screening set for Eco Savvy cycling shorts

-

Eco Savvy would like to invite islanders and visitors to a special bicyclefocused online event in their

Savvy Film Club calendar – Cycle Shorts.

This takes place on Tuesday August 4 at 7pm and will consist of four different themed films about cycling, curated by ebike coordinator Andrew Binnie.

He said: ‘Join us on a virtual bike trip from London to Utah via the Scottish Highlands!

‘Through these four films we will take a look at cycling from very different perspectives, from old school bike touring to how cycling can celebrate and empower the differences in people, to discovering new landscapes and freedom, and finally, to pushing the human mind and body in endurance cycling.

‘Even if you are not “into” biking we are sure there is something in here for everyone!’

The Savvy Film Club was born when lockdown started as a way to spread some positivity and provide a constructive distraction while people’s lives were limited. The Cycle Shorts screening will mark the 20th online film screening Eco Savvy have organised, with the film club growing in popularity each week.

The format is very simple – just email ruth.ecosavvy@ gmail.com to say you would like to watch the films and on Tuesday you will be emailed links and instructions on how to watch from the comfort of your own home. Following the films everyone is also invited to join the informal chat online to give opinions on the films and anything that has been inspired from watching.

Don’t miss next week’s Banner for more exciting Eco Savvy cycling news.
