Monster Mish Mash charity silent auction launched

-

Prolific charitable fundraisers Pauline Reid Adamson and Charlie Adamson have launched an online silent auction as part of their 2021 itinerary in aid of MND Scotland.

The silent auction, known as the Monster Mish Mash, will run for the month of August and is a precursor to a Hallowe’en event called the Monsters Ball.

The items listed in the auction, which can be found at www.32auctions.com/ MND23, have been donated by island businesses and bidding is open to anyone in Ayrshire and Arran.

Among the items available at the auction are romantic getaways, beauty hampers, Arran Gin, cheese, books, art and even a gourmet fish and chips dinner for two.

The charitable duo has previously raised funds for an Arran cat charity and has hosted a tea party in aid of

CLIC Sargent.

Charlie also completed a 100-day challenge for MND Scotland where he ran 10k a day, did 100 press ups and 100 sit ups every day and abstained from alcohol for 100 days.

This challenge saw Charlie raise £4,135 for MND Scotland. Speaking at the time, Charlie said: ‘I have a family member currently living with this terrible disease (motor neurone disease) and have seen first hand the daily struggles they have to face.

‘MND Scotland has been there to help and support our family every step of the way. ‘I have set myself the toughest personal challenge that I could think of - while continuing to work through a pandemic. ‘Any donations made will be greatly appreciated and go towards research and hopefully one day finding a cure.’

Bidding for any of the 20 items at www.32auctions. com/MND23 can be made from Sunday August 1 until Saturday August 28 and items can be collected at the Monsters Ball which is taking place at Adamton Country House Hotel, Prestwick, on
