BEST OF THE REST
DIY SOS: THE BIG BUILD BBC1, 9pm
NICK KNOWLES, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and an army of volunteers help a teenager whose cramped family living room has been her prison for the last two years.
Chloe, 20, was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder when she was 18, and has since been confined to a wheelchair, needs constant access to oxygen, is fed through a tube and is prone to terrifying seizures. She can’t even access the bathroom and has to get to her nan’s house for a shower.
Chloe lives with her mum, stepdad Phil and stepbrother Josh, but can’t continue to live like this. “I call it my cell,” says Chloe. “Four walls that I’m stuck in.”
Chloe has already told Susie to put her in a care home, a devastating prospect for the whole family. “We are here to stop that happening,” says Nick, springing into action to redesign their house.
They burn the midnight oil, they drink coffee, they drag tradesmen off the street. Whatever it takes to get the job done – and Chloe’s reaction will pull on the heart strings.
GREY’S ANATOMY SKY LIVING, 9pm
THE staff at Grey Sloan Memorial hospital are not a great advert for marriage. Just a shame they all have to work with their other halves.
After realising Catherine’s (Debbie Allen) hand in ousting him from his position, Richard (James Pickens Jr) is now sleeping at work. And their marital problems spill into the operating room during the gory case of a man who’s had an accident with a deep fat turkey fryer.
Not helping matters are warring ex couple Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew), who scrub in on the same op and wade into the argument.
Meanwhile, Maggie convinces Amelia to return to work for one case, but Amelia spends the whole day avoiding husband Owen. What will happen when they inevitably bump into each other?
And in other conflict, Karev and Riggs come to blows over a newborn baby with a heart problem – each wants a different procedure.
So it’s down to Arizona and the widely-hated Minnick to bring some affection to tonight’s episode as they plan their first date.
