City cup final action set to get under way
THE first Newcastle City cup finals take place next Tuesday (March 28) at Stotts Road, Walker. These two games have been brought forward from the original date.
The Under-11 Bob Maddison Cup Final between Cragside and St Alban’s kicks off at 4.15pm.
After their 3-1 victory over Gosforth Central in the semis, Cragside will start as firm favourites.
Their manager, Tom Digby will choose from the following players: Will Bulman, James Davison, Louis Fernandes, Noah Fox-Lansley, Patrick Jones, Dylan Knott, Daniel Murphy, Jamie Reed-Embleton, Ewan Scott, Max Storey.
The Under-12 Colquhoun Cup Final between St.Cuthbert’s and St.Mary’s kicks off at 4.30pm. St Cuthbert’s had a comfortable 6-0 victory over Walbottle in the semis but they start as second favourites.
Manager David Adams will select from: Kosta Weatherburn, Kyle Hedley, Charlie Burke, Ethan Blackett, Lewis Walton, Gary Walker, Alfie Holland, Paul Dudgeon, Wish Machingura, Nick Bollado, Jakub Zych, Thomas Duddy. ■■Newcastle Under-15 Girls had a great victory last week in their first County League game of the season.
They beat South Northumberland 6-0 with goals from Jane Hartland and five from Jayden Maxwell. They now face North Tyneside on Wednesday (March 29) at John Spence School, 4.30pm kick-off.
