SAFARI IN DUBAI

A SAFARI park is set to open in Dubai’s Al Warqa district this autumn. The 294-acre site will be home to 10,000 animals, with the first phase seeing the introducti­on of lions, antelopes and elephants.

Enclosures will have air-conditione­d rocks, chilled pools and misting machines to keep the animals cool over the torrid summer months and the attraction will have Arabian, Asian, African, American and Australian villages with an on-site hotel also planned (visitdubai.com).

BOBSLEIGH TO GET PULSES RACING

BOB NORTH WALES is already an action-packed destinatio­n for adventurou­s families and now there’s a new bobsleigh thrill ride launching on May 10.

The Forest Coaster at Zip World in Betws-y-Coed is an all-weather experience – and a UK first – where riders whizz down a 1,100-yard elevated metal track through the woods at up to 25mph.

Riders can go singly or in pairs and three trips are £15 per person for riders aged nine years and over, £7.50 for under-nines.
