GIFTS FOR GEORDIE BAIRNS

-

POP princess and Geordie lass Cheryl has delighted fans by announcing the birth of her new baby.

The singer and One Direction star boyfriend Liam Payne, 23, revealed on Instagram on Saturday night that they welcomed a baby boy last week.

Though the little one hasn’t yet got a name, Cheryl said he had already started “stealing hearts” and that she and Liam were “madly in love” already.

She added: “Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever.”

We’re joining fans and celebrities in sending their congratulations to Cheryl, and we’ve had a think about a few perfect North East-themed gifts for the new mam.

Take a look at our list of presents that are perfect for celebrating Cheryl’s Geordie heritage, as well as her new arrival.

BABYGROS WITH ATTITUDE

Cheryl can mark her bairn out as a Geordie from day one with these gorgeous Geordie outfits.

As well as the rather cute “Little worky ticket” design, pictured, the babygros, made by North East company Geordie Genes, come with North East slogans including “Shy bairns get nowt”. Get them at www.geordiegenes.co.uk/store/c1/ Geordie-gifts

OR HOW ABOUT A BIB?

Even beautiful Cheryl’s baby is bound to make a mess sometimes, but with this range of bibs, he can dine like a Geordie. More designs at www. geordie-genes.co.uk/store/ c1/Geordie-gifts

‘BEST MAM EVER’ MUG

The gifts shouldn’t all be for the new arrival – after having a baby, I think we can all agree that Cheryl might be in need of a present too.

And what better than this mug recognising the great Geordie mams out there?

She might be “mum” to the rest of the country, but here in the North East she’ll always be “mam” – and this mug, from local company Geordie Gifts, is a great way of celebrating that.

A TINY NUFC STRIP

Now, I don’t know if new dad Liam Payne is devoted to any particular football team, but I think Geordies can all agree, we don’t really care – Cheryl’s lad will take the proper Geordie path and support the Magpies.

So, quick Cheryl, before any non-Geordie family can get to him first. He’ll join some of the many adorable youngsters like Kayden and Lucie Dawson, above.
