While the government has insisted on continued private sector involvemen­t in the Metro, officials feel they have two years to prove what a publicly run system can do. And when we first reported that Metro was to become publicly run, we conducted a poll which asked if it should stay in public ownership.

The first incident happened in the park at Deneside, Seghill at around 3.30pm on Tuesday. A man exposed himself to a teenage girl walking home from school.

The same day, at 3.51pm, a man exposed himself to two girls on Elsdon Avenue, Seaton Delaval. On Wednesday, at 5.30pm, a man exposed himself to a teenager near to the bowling green between Collywell Bay Road and Beresford Road in Seaton Sluice.

The last indecent exposure happened in a park on Bank Top in Bedlington Station at 7.15pm on Wednesday. The man is described as wearing a red or maroon jumper or jacket and aged around 60.
