Get out and about for Easter

LOOKING for ideas to entertain the family this Easter halfterm? There’s a whole host of attraction­s to choose from around the North East.

From lamb feeding at one of the many local farm attraction­s, to a spring stroll around one of the region’s fine stately homes, there’s something to suit every age, taste and budget. From rolling countrysid­e and vast golden beaches, to vibrant city centres, the North East is full of hidden gems.

Those who like to be in the hub of things will find plenty of city centre venues to explore – whether it’s a spot of shopping or a family meal in one of the many new and varied eateries in Newcastle and Durham.

Just a short hop on the Metro and you can explore our wonderful coastlines, including Tynemouth, South Shields and North Shields with its vibrant Quay.And those who have a penchant for the great outdoors should head out into Northumber­land. The county is a magical place filled with ancient castles, hidden gardens, unspoilt golden sandy beaches, rolling hills, rugged moorland, sweeping views, friendly little market towns and villages and a cultural heritage all of its own.
