County council has become arrogant

-

IT seems inconceivable in this day and age that a council such as Northumberland County Council can shout about their achievements and for this to go unchallenged.

What was once a thriving and forward-thinking local authority has become a selfrighteous arrogant and insensitive organisation riddled with class jealousy and determined to undermine the I AM trying to trace the family of Florence Messer and Andrew (my grandparents). I have seen my cousin Tom, but didn’t know the rest of my father - George’s - brother’s family.

I know his brother Andy changed his surname to Mercer, also my nana was Bryden before marriage.

All my father’s family had middle name of Talbot as my administration took over responsibility in 2013 we’ve added over 1,000 affordable homes to our stock; we’re delivering on our promise to return jobs and services to market towns across the county; we’ve delivered free car parking; we’ve invested in jobs and the Northumberland economy and we’ve done this without redundancies.

We’ve invested in the local NHS and we’ve supported businesses across the county. All of this achieved against a local Conservative party which has opposed every Labour policy.

Your correspondent may also want to check their geography. The south east of Northumberland accounts for over 55% of the population of Northumberland.

We’re proud of what we’re achieving for Northumberland but your correspondent just goes to prove the old adage – you can’t please some people.
