THE big game at the top saw Cramlingto­n Town Reserves leapfrog above West Jesmond into second place with a 5-1 win.

Richard Stobbart scored twice with Trevor Newman, Graeme Buller and Daniel Purvis also on target.

Kester Young replied for West Jesmond.

Ponteland United Reserves maintained their six-point lead at the top as Joseph Bilham and Sean McDonald gave them a 2-0 victory over Newbiggin Hall Vettic.

Stobswood Welfare are fourth but level on points with West Jesmond following a 3-2 success over North Shields Athletic Reserves.

Jake Baker notched twice for Welfare, Kevin Bell also netting.
