Three cheers as the Fiddlers triumph again

FIDDLERS Three maintained their perfect record in Division One with a convincing 11-0 midweek win over The Globe.

Jonathan Hurst and Paul Donnelly both scored hat-tricks and Dean Martin bagged a brace.

Also on target were Chris Lowther, Carl Johnson and Ian Spalding.

Highwayman also picked up maximum points with a 7-1 victory at Whickham Bay Horse.

Gary Archbold top-scored with four goals and they were added to by Joseph McClarence, Carl Foster and Lee Peacock.

Lewis McKie registered Whickham’s sole reply.

In the Premier Division there was a point each last Thursday for Belle Vue and Whickham Coachman in a 1-1 draw. Craig Rook netted for The Coachies.

Also sharing the spoils were Westwood and Birtley RAOB in a 3-3 draw. Jordan Smith claimed all three of Birtley’s counters.

On Sunday, Holmeside Hall remain top of the Premier Division courtesy of a narrow 3-2 success over Winlaton West End.

A Stephen Edwards strike and two finishes from Liam McVicar were enough to take the points, the goals for Winlaton from Rob Beverley and Connor Brierley.

Blue Star moved into second place following their 1-0 verdict against Whickham Coachman.

A great strike from Connor Halpin proved the difference between the sides.

Leam Lane completed their campaign with a 4-2 result over Sunniside Travellers Rest. Kevin Hay netted twice for Travellers.

Westwood were 5-1 winners over Saltwell SC, Richard Cunningham with Saltwell’s consolatio­n.

Fiddlers Three claimed the Division One title with a 5-1 victory over Crawcrook Albion.

Paul Donnelly was on the mark twice alongside efforts from Dean Martin, Jonathan Hurst and Scott Watson. Brannon Patterson replied for Albion.

Thomas Wilson remain second following a 3-0 result at Highwayman.

Counters from Jonny Twentyman, Sam Fraser and Neil Davison secured the win.

Whickham Bay Horse registered a 5-4 victory at Teams Club.

A brace from Lewis Mckie was added to by counters from Richard Routledge, Ben Johnson and David Mordue.

Ryton Cross picked up their first league win of the season - a 4-3 triumph over The Eagle.

David Wright hit a treble and a goal from Lee Masterman took the points for Ryton.
