BY CAR:

The A1290, Washington is closed due to major road improvements between Usworth Station Road/Sulgrave Road and Cherry Blossom Way, near to the Nissan Sports and leisure complex. Diversion eastbound via Spire Road to the A1231, turn off at Nissan Way and rejoin A1231 at Cherry Blossom Way. Westbound, diversion is via Cherry Blossom way to Nissan Way onto A1231 turning off at Spire Road and the A1290.

Expect delays on the A194 at Leam Lane while the road is widened from two lanes to three.

There are narrow lanes and a speed restriction of 30mph due to long-term roadworks on the A19 at the north side of the Silverlink Roundabout.

The A688 eastbound at Thinford is closed due to roadworks at the A167 until the end of May. BY BUS:

High West Street, Gateshead, will be closed southbound until Friday 12 May for BT works. Go North East services 21, 28, X1, X9, X10 and N21 will omit High West Street and divert via Jackson Street and High Street, serving the stop at the Blue Bell Hotel. Passengers should use Gateshead Interchange or the stop at the Blue Bell.

During the A1290 closure in Washington, Go North East services 50 and 56 will miss the Severn Houses stop and divert via Spire Road, Peel Retail Park, A1231, Nissan Way and Cherry Blossom Way in both directions. BY METRO:
