THE ITV LEADERS’ DEBATE ITV, 8pm

IN the run-up to June’s snap General Election, we can expect plenty of opportunities to see the party leaders brawl, albeit as politely as possible.

Seven party leaders – the Conservatives, Labour, SNP, Liberal Democrats, UKIP, Plaid Cymru and the Greens – were all invited to take part in this one.

Prime Minister Theresa May was the first to refuse, initially saying she would not do televised debates because she prefers on-the-ground campaigning.

Presumably television is only acceptable for an inane chat about shoes on The One Show and being asked who puts out in the bins in her house– although she has since agreed to a couple of BBC Question Time specials.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has now also refused to join in tonight, saying the British people have the right to see a head-to-head debate between him and May.

Julie Etchingham is the lucky lady to referee tonight’s event, which sees leaders engage in debate on election questions from the audience. But who will turn up remains to be seen.

SHUT-INS: BRITAIN’S FATTEST WOMAN Channel 4, 9pm

SHARON Hill is what doctors call super morbidly obese. Weighing more than 46 stone at just 33 years old, she could hardly move or leave the house – she became ‘shut-in’.

Her husband Andrew, who she met through an online chat room for admirers of large women, was also trapped in the house, caring for his wife who gained eight stone in the two years since they married.

Channel 4 filmed Sharon as she embarked on risky weight loss surgery, but now cameras revisit her two years on to discover she is still struggling and putting the pounds back on again.

“I’d like to get a job, have a child, travel,” says Sharon. “But I crave sugar. I crave it every single minute of every day.”

Aside from the emotional struggles, Sharon is also in constant pain.

As she continues to battle her demons around food, she meets a psychologist and a specialist surgical team as she decides to have a second surgery.

Will she finally live a life beyond the confines of her house?
