Road from Ryton is a nightmare

-

SOMEONE mentioned the other day about the road to Blaydon. The bypass is already extremely busy, but the road from Ryton is even worse.

It’s exceptionally difficult for cars and busses to get out at the roundabout due to traffic.

However, when the new houses in Ryton and Crawcrook are built, it’ll be even more difficult. No one seems to have thought about that when giving permission for these homes to be built.

There needs to be something done at the roundabout, possibly part-time traffic lights. Not only that, the roads to Newcastle are also very busy, and this will only get worse. Before permission was granted for the houses, these issues should have been thought about and rectified.

GORDON, Crawcrook WHEN I first met you I sat you in my hand Then took you on a bus to A brand new foreign land A playful little ball of fluff skidding Across the floor Shredding all those letters that came through Our front door Many walks in sun and snow You grew up a beautiful dog Adventures here and everywhere Through sleet, wind and fog Then time passed by, unfortunately your Beloved Mam did leave I watched you pine and whine for her And cry, whimper and grieve Then it became me and you A new era was born Crazy walks and misadventures Through moors and fields of corn Wading through the River Derwent Clutching you in my arms Trying not to drop you Protecting you from harm The North Pennines and Weardale Moors Held no fear for us We’d waded across these barren lands Without an inch of fuss But time takes its toll And remains the same It goes forward and never goes back And becomes a real hard slog We look at each other these Years later, and we both see older men Shorter of breath, slower in pace But the same tenacious brethren You don’t walk as fast You don’t see that well But you were there for me in the past Across every valley and fell I put drops in your eyes I rub cream on your skin I cry at the pain That you have been in But that is old age It comes to us all Every man, woman and animal I cherish the memories that you have Given me Hopefully from now to eternity One thing is certain I’m here ‘til the end I cherish your heart My dog, my friend.
