PHILADELPH­IA’S stuttering start to the Division One season continued with a six-wicket loss at home to in-form Easington.

The Bunker Hill outfit attained just 108, John Leslie taking 4-25 in his spell.

In reply, Easington’s Jiniv Joshi, with 27, helped steer his side home to a comfortabl­e win.

Whiteleas and Horden played out a draw, the home side batting first and making 175-9 with Ryan Downs contributi­ng 33 and Abdul Ameer 63 and Scott Birks returning 3-53.

Horden’s response mustered 158-6 with Lee Jackson (34). Adam Dixon (58) and Jamie Greenwood all batting well, Ryan Downs registerin­g 4-33.

Seaham Park remain top after their game was abandoned with Esh Winning on 165-6.

Chris Simpson posted 33 and Daniel Wilkinson 29. David Shaw and Andrew McKensie each took two wickets each for Park.

Castle Eden made 210-4 declared in their home match with Bill Quay.

Opener Robert McGlasham struck 90 not out, Alan Unsworth contribute­d 30 and Philip Wimpenny smashed 42.

In reply, Gateshead’s Bill Quay scored 146-7, Chris Little and Josh Eaton both hitting 48 and Richard Ede taking 3-37.

In a high-scoring game between Dawdon and Tudhoe, the visitors amassed 268-2 declared - Alex McGrath with a superb century (133no) and Abhiram Joshi 81. Dawdon fel just short on 256 all out.
