I wonder if May can get out of this

-

JOE Keith of Heaton quotes Elie Wiesel to illustrate his position that we must teach the Tories a lesson they will not forget.

Elie Wiesel, who died recently, was a Holocaust survivor and I do not think he would appreciate his words being quoted in support of such left-wing rhetoric.

The rest of the quote from the Night Trilogy is: “When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Whenever men and women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place – at that moment – becomes the centre of the universe.”

If Mr Keith is likening living in the UK under the Conservatives to the dark place in Wiesel’s writings he has no concept of real suffering.

CT, Gateshead AS darkness yields to dawn’s return, silence succumbs to song. A striking lilt cuts through the gloom so soft, yet pure and strong. I sense the blackbird’s utter pride, and he imparts his soul. I smile half wakened in the haze, he’s on a splendid roll. And as the light gains dominance, darkness turns slow to leave. To contentment fades the repertoire, I’m so glad he’s bequeathed. Both by JAMES BRIDGEWOOD of Wallsend OOPS, yet another U-turn has been performed by the hapless Mrs May.

It was on social care for the elderly this time. Maybe she should be known as Mrs Maze from now on.

It is obvious that she is totally lost. AW, Gosforth
