WHITLEY Arrows claimed their third victory of the season in the English Under-11 North Ice Hockey League, defeating Grimsby Redwings 8-0.

The visitors from Humberside travelled with only one netminder and nine skaters - less than the number required, so victory was awarded to the Arrows.

Ben Wood, Dylan Macklow, Ashton Moffitt, Jack Kilvington, Scott Harwood and Jack McRoy were the Arrows’ scorers. ■■RAMSIDE A defeated Heworth 8-6 in the latest round of matches in Division One of the North Durham Golf League.

Boldon beat Wearside 9-5, Seaham overcame South Shields 14-0 and Chester-le-Street lost 12-2 to Durham City. ■■SEATONIANS triumphed 16-0 at Hexham in the Northumber­land Summer Netball League’s Under-11 Division.

Wansbeck B drew 4-4 with Astley while Wansbeck A prevailed 9-7 at Ponteland. ■■WARENFORD (109-2) progressed in the Northumber­land Cricket League’s Tom Barlow Cup with an eight-wicket victory at Wooler (108-5). Clara Vale were 21-run winners against Kirkley. ■■FIFTY-three from Allan Worthy was not enough to give Burnmoor victory over Durham City in the Readers Durham Cricket League’s Profound Cup.

Despite Worthy’s efforts, Burnmoor ended on 112-8 chasing City’s 114-5. ■■WALKER Central Under-13s are holding trials for next season at Monkcheste­r Roadstonig­ht and Thursday, June 8 (6.30-7.30) and on Saturdays June 3 and 10 (10.00-11.30). ■■CHESTER-LE-STREET Town retained the Durham FA Women’s Cup for a third year, defeating Tynedale 9-1.

A hat-trick by Nichole Havery and a brace by Katie Ellison were added to by goals from Laura Hockaday, Hayley English, Rachel Kay and Chloe Johnson.

Tynedale’s consolatio­n strike came from striker Megan Watson. ■■BOLDON CA Villa suffered penalty shoot-out agony against Stockton West End in the final of the Durham County Women’s League Cup.

The match was level at 1-1 after extra time - Melissa Simpson notching for the South Tynesiders - but Boldon lost 4-2 on spot kicks. ■■SOUTH Northumber­land host Burnmoor tomorrow night in the Dukes ECB North East Premier Cricket League’s First XI T20.

Other ties: Felling v South Shields, Whitburn v Gateshead Fell, Benwell Hill v Sunderland, Chester-le-Street v Mainsforth and Blaydon v Willington.
