TALES FROM AROUND THE WEB

TIME TO DITCH YOUR MOBILE NETWORK?

WHICH have you been with longer: your partner or your mobile network?

According to a survey, young Brits are more loyal to their phone providers than their boyfriend or girlfriend, with the average romantic relationship for 18-30-year-olds lasting three years and nine months, compared with four years and two months for a typical phone contract.

The poll, commissioned by Carphone Warehouse, also found that under-30s are more likely to have considered cheating on their partner than changing providers, because they believe the switching process is too complicated.

INSTAGRAM CHANGES ITS STORIES

HOT on the heels of Snapchat, Instagram has added a way to search Stories, the ephemeral posts you could previously see only if you were following a particular user.

In the Explore tab of the Instagram app (make sure you’ve got the latest version) you’ll now see Stories grouped by location. If you use a location sticker or hashtag on your Stories and your account is set to public, you could end up in the featured Story ring, so it’s appealing for users looking to garner more followers.

You can also put any location or hashtag in the search bar, so expect to see lots more #ootd (outfit of the day) and #fwis (from where I stand) tags cropping up on your Stories feed.
