ALEKSANDAR Mitrovic has admitted he may have to listen to any offers which come his way this summer.

However, he has no qualms about staying with Newcastle United ahead of their return to the Premier League.

Mitrovic netted for Serbia in their 1-1 draw with Wales to keep his country on course for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

After the game he was asked about his future with the Magpies. He responded by saying: “I am very happy to help Newcastle back to the Premier League because that is where the club deserves to be.

“I heard something about other clubs but for now I just want to rest. I need to prepare for next season.

“If there are good offers for me which are also good for the club which come in for me over the summer we will speak about it. If it does not happen then I am still a Newcastle United player, I have three years on my contract.

“So we have to speak to the club, to the manager (Rafael Benitez) and we will see.”

Mitrovic’s goal for Serbia was his fourth in as many games for his country against Chris Coleman’s side. It was the second time he has scored against Wales during the World Cup qualifiers.

He added: “I like playing against Wales.

“It was like a Championship game, I can say. There was a lot of fight in the middle.

“We made mistakes we should not have made.

“Wales scored from one mistake we made but we showed good character to come back against them again.

“It is not so bad for us, we are back to the top of the group.

“We have Moldova at home in our next game. It is up to us.”
