BY CAR: The A1290 is closed due to major improvements between Usworth Station Road/Sulgrave Road and Cherry Blossom Way. Diversion is via the A1231 Sunderland Highway. There are narrow lanes and a speed restriction of 30mph due to long-term roadworks at the Silverlink Roundabout in North Tyneside. Expect delays on the A194 at Leam Lane while the road is widened from two lanes to three.

BY BUS:

The roundabout at Pallion, Sunderland, and the junctions with Pallion Subway/European Way/Pallion New Road will be closed until Sunday, July 2, for major works. Routes 11, 135 and 136 are diverted: Mondays to Thursdays after 9pm; Fridays after 9.30pm, and weekends after 10pm. Route 11 will miss stops on Trimdon Street, Pallion New Road and Pallion Subway. Buses will be diverted via Hylton Road and St Luke’s Terrace. Routes 135 and 136 will miss stops on Pallion New Road, Pallion Subway and St Luke’s Terrace. Route 135 will turn left onto Pallion New Road and serve the first eastbound stop. A section of the roundabout at Trimdon Street/Hylton Road in Sunderland will be closed for resurfacing works between approx 8am and midday tomorrow.

Service 136 buses will be diverted from the Queen Alexandra Bridge to operate via Deptford Place, Hanover Place and Farringdon Row to Silksworth Row, serving temporary stops along the diversion.

METRO

Tomorrow, no trains will run between Gateshead Stadium and Pelaw until about 6.20pm due to track maintenance work. A replacement bus, the 900, will be calling at all stations.
