G HART hit an unbeaten 38 and Alan Worthy 33 to steer Burnmoor to a seven-wicket victory over Gateshead Fell in Group A of the Dukes ECB North East Premier League’s T20 Competitio­n.

Steve Meek claimed 32 as the Fell managed 124-6 - D Daley making 45 - Burnmoor replying with 126-3.

In Group B there were wins for Chester-le-Street versus Sunderland, Mainsforth against Blaydon and Burnopfiel­d at home to the Durham Academy. ■■DURHAM City defeated Silksworth by nine wickets in the Readers Durham Cricket League’s Fifteens competitio­n.

There were also victories for Philadelph­ia, Crook Town, Esh Winning, Tudhoe and Whiteleas against Marsden, Evenwood, Langley Park, Ushaw Moor and Boldon CA respective­ly. ■■NEWCASTLE Community Football are running Saturday coaching sessions for four to 16-year-olds at Ponteland’s Richard Coates Middle School and Gateshead Powerleagu­e (10.30-noon).

The cost is £3.50 per session for outfield players and £5 for goalkeepin­g sessions (Richard Coates only).

Tyneside accounted for Ravenswort­h 9-3 while Tynemouth defeated Prudhoe 11-1. ■■DURHAM claimed an eightwicke­t victory over Cheshire in the ECB 50+ County Championsh­ip, Cheshire totalling 182 - Ian Male taking 3-37 - and Durham 185-2 in response. ■■ALNMOUTH registered an 82-run victory over Warkworth in the Northumber­land Cricket League’s R E Wood Cup Alnmouth 193-6, Warkworth 111-8.

Also progressin­g were Blyth, who defeated neighbours Ashington by 30 runs. ■■HALTWHISTL­E beat Stockfield by seven wickets in the West Tyne Cricket League’s Division One Knockout Cup.

In the Hedworth Wlliamson Cup, Burnhope enjoyed an eightwicke­t success against Felham Felham 90-9, Burnhope 93-2.
