FICKLE FRIENDS SINGER NATTI SHINER KEEPS STYLE PERSONAL

- BY MARION McMULLEN

What are you wearing today? Vintage high-waisted suit trousers in grey with a black off-theshoulder crop top from Birshka, Levi’s silk bomber jacket (which you can wear inside out, it’s rad) and vegan Dr Marten sandals. Who’s your style icon? Probably a mix of Susie Lau, Kate Moss, Pheobe Lettice and Kanye. What item of clothing do you spend the most on? Shoes! More specifically trainers. What is your favourite piece of clothing in your wardrobe? I have this vintage letterman jacket I found on tour in Leeds and I’ve sewn up the sleeves about four times. I don’t know what I’d do without it! What has been your biggest fashion disaster? For a show I once wore this Henry Holland oversized T-shirt dress. It was multi-coloured Union Jacket print. At the time I was in love with it but looking back I am so ashamed. I look like a f***ing tent! Who is your favourite designer? Moschino and I’ve recently fallen in love with this designer through Instagram called The Design Studio in Hawarden – they make incredible faux fur jackets! Which is your favourite high street store? I love Urban Outfitters. You can find pretty much anything in there and they stock some sick brands as well as their own. What did your mum teach you about fashion? To never feel the need to conform, use fashion to express your personality and be as wild as you want. My mum is a proper hippy and is so rad – but I didn’t feel that way when she turned up to my year four sports day in something you’d see at a festival stall.

■ Fickle Friends are at Standon Calling (standon-calling.com) and Kendal Calling (kendalcalling. coluk) on the weekend of July 27 and headline a UK tour in October.
