METRO Radio Arena has been gearing up for its first big summer show this week and is urging customers to get the event early due to security checks.

Good Mourning Mrs Brown is at the Arena from today to Sunday, and staff are asking ticket holders to arrive early so the staff have plenty of time to carry out the appropriat­e checks.

Ailsa Oliver, general manager of the Metro Radio Arena, said: “The safety of our patrons continues to be our priority, and we are asking the public to assist us.

“If customers can arrive early to allow plenty time for the screening process and ensure they do not have an of the prohibited items with them, it will support this greatly and allow everyone to have a fantastic event experience.”

WHAT IS THE ARENA’S SAFETY OVERVIEW?

Please be assured that public safety continues to be the priority for Arena staff.

Event and security teams continue to remain vigilant and are working together with local and national authoritie­s to ensure visitors have the safest and most enjoyable experience while visiting the Metro Radio Arena.

There are a number of security measures in place, visible and non-visible, involving internal and external personnel, for all events.

Visitors are asked to bring only essential items. No large bags or backpacks will be allowed into the venue.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE AT THE ARENA?

The Arena takes the safety and security of all its visitors very seriously. When coming to the Arena staff ask you arrive early to allow time to pass through security checks.

The security and customer services team are there for your safety. Please cooperate fully with all security checks and support these vital members of the team as they carry out important work.

WHAT IS THE BAG POLICY?

You are encouraged to bring only essential items as no large bags or backpacks at all can be brought into the venue.

That means no holdalls, luggage or computer bags will be allowed into the venue. There is no storage or cloakroom facility available so please make alternativ­e arrangemen­ts before arriving.

ARE THERE ANY EXCEPTIONS?
