Dale offer a tough test for Swalwell

SWALWELL will look to consolidat­e top spot in Division A1 tomorrow - but willl take nothing for granted against visitors Tynedale.

Fixture secretary Paul Dumighan said: “Tynedale have done very well and have a young side with good players.

“They have done better than expected but I always knew they were a good side and they bring good energy to the field.

“It will be a tough game but hopefully one we can win again to extend our points difference at the top of the league.”

Consett journey to Ashington and visiting chairman Alan Waters said: “We are playing one of the forces in the division and they won the league last year.

“They are near the top and had a good win over Shotley Bridge at the weekend, so we know it is going to be a very hard game.

“However, we did secure our first win against Leadgate last week.”

Mark Dixon returns from injury to replace Dan Milligan, Sam Shaik is away and replacing him will be Stephen Turnbull while Matt Jackson comes in for Paul Ringer.”

Lanchester will be unchanged when they host Ryton.

Fixture secretary Bob Gardiner said: “Despite the fact Ryton have had a slow start, we are taking nothing for granted.

“They are making improvemen­ts and we seem to be going in the opposite direction.”

Newcastle City host Leadgate in an early relegation encounter both teams in the bottom three.

City skipper Sandeep Padmalaya said: “We are hopeful of a win.

“Last week we lost by just 18 runs so this week we are looking to get back to winning ways.”

Percy Main welcome Lintz and fixture secretary Andrew Cherry said: “The result last Saturday gave us a bit of a buffer from the relegation zone and we will be aiming to climb further up the league and catch up with the top five or six teams.”
