NEWCASTLE Blackhawks’ flag football team go for a treble of honours when they visit Darlington Steam at Eastbourne Sports Complex tomorrow.

The Blackhawks are undefeated after eight games so far this season and have three matches against Darlington, Leeds Samurai and the Calderdale Knights.

Three wins would see the team secure their second successive division title, a place in the playoffs for the third successive year and gain a spot in the inaugural National Premiershi­p for 2018.

■■WHITLEY Arrows visit the Forum Ice Arena this weekend for the two-day Billingham Stars Under-11 Tournament.

The Arrows will face Bradford, Murrayfiel­d, Nottingham and hosts Billingham.

■■THE Rotary Club of Washington Forge is staging a charity swimathon at Washington Leisure Centre on Sunday, July 16 (9.00-6.00).

Proceeds will go to the Type One Kidz charity.

■■CHESTER-LE-STREET defeated Wearside 10-4 in the latest round of matches in Division One of the North Durham Golf League.

Other scores: Durham City 8 Ramside Hall 4, Seaham 10 Boldon 4, South Shields 5 Heworth 9.

■■WANSBECK defeated Hexham 24-6 and Ponteland were 22-7 winners against Astley in the Northumber­land Summer Netball League’s Under-16 Division.

At under-14 level there were wins for Ponteland A, Seatonians B and Hexham B against Wansbeck A, Ponteland and Seatonians C respective­ly.

■■GRAEME Preston (76-7=69) won Seahouses Golf Club’s Breckon Shield for over-50 players on countback ahead of Arthur Scandle (89-20=69) and Kevin Filer (78-9=69).
