Prepare to meet TV pups

WHAT’S ON EDITOR GORDON BARR HAS NEWS OF TV FAVOURITE PAW PATROL COMING FOR LIVE SHOWS IN NEWCASTLE

-

TV family favourite PAW Patrol is heading to the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle.

Tickets for PAW Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue are set to go on sale later this week for three shows all taking place on the one day.

Based on Spin Master Entertainment’s phenomenally popular property, which airs on Nick Jr., PAW Patrol Live! brings everybody’s favourite pups to the stage for an action-packed, high-energy, musical adventure.

It will be at the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle, on Saturday, August 19, with performances at 10.30am, 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

“The UK’s response to PAW Patrol Live has been truly extraordinary. We knew this wonderful live show would be popular, but we’ve genuinely been taken by surprise by the overwhelming demand.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing this spectacular live event to fans in Newcastle and the North East of England,” said Anton Berezin, Managing Director, TEG Life Like Touring.

PAW Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue” shows that “No job is too big, no pup is too small!” and shares lessons for all ages about community, social skills and problem solving as the characters each use their unique skills and teamwork.

When Mayor Goodway goes missing during the day of the Great Adventure Bay Race, the pups come to the rescue. Families can join Ryder, Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Rubble, Zuma, Skye and Everest for the show’s first tour in UK and Ireland.

Running at 80 minutes, PAW Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue” includes two acts and an interval. The show is set to engage audiences with Bunraku puppetry, an innovative costuming approach that brings the PAW Patrol characters to life on stage with their vehicles and pup packs.

The performance features up-tempo music and a new story, which serves as a good introduction to live theatre for kids. Classic theatrical scenery along with a high-tech video wall visually transports families to an authentic PAW Patrol environment, including locations from the TV series like Adventure Bay, The Lookout, Seal Island, Farmer Yumi’s farm and Jake’s Mountain.

Special interactive video allows the audience to participate via interviews, solve clues with the pups, and follow Mayor Goodway and much more.

Using Bunraku, puppetry elements are built into costumes worn by performers to create life-size pups that wag their tails, blink their eyes, move their mouths and engage the audience throughout their adventure. The costume design brings a fun, realistic parallel between the animated series and the live show.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Thursday, June 29, and are available online, from the booking hotline number 0844 493 6666 or from 10.00am in person from the Metro Radio Arena Box Office. Family Passes and VIP Meet and Greet Packages available.
