Vile villains off our streets

Reporter THE Chronicle is naming and shaming criminals jailed for offences during June.

We have pulled together a collection of photograph­s of 27 North East offenders who have been convicted and locked up by courts throughout the month.

They include murderers, sex offenders and a gang of heroin dealers.

35, of Northern Terrace, Dudley will serve at least 26 years in prison for murdering teenager Owen Kerry in Cramlingto­n on Christmas Eve. Mr Kerry, 19, was stabbed in the abdomen while celebratin­g the festive season in a social club.

36, of Queens Gardens, Annitsford, will spend at least 18 years in jail for her part in murdering Owen Kerry. Prosecutor­s successful­ly argued that Harper and Brian Cahill share responsibi­lity for the attack.

43, will be locked up for at least 33 years for torturing and murdering vulnerable Jimmy Prout.

Zaman, 43, of St Stephen’s Way, Percy Main, North Shields, killed Mr Prout after a sadistic campaign of torture and abuse.

Mr Prout was forced to eat his own testicle and have sex with a dog before the grim ordeal ended with his death in February 2016.

56, of St Stephen’s Way, Percy Main, North Shields has also been found guilty of murdering her former partner Jimmy Prout. She will serve at least 27 years of a life sentence.

56, of St Stephen’s Way, Percy Main, North Shields was jailed for 12 years for causing or allowing the death of vulnerable Jimmy Prout and perverting the course of justice.

50, of St Stephen’s Way, Percy Main, North Shields was also jailed for 12 years for causing or allowing Jimmy Prout’s death and perverting the course of justice.

39, of no fixed address has been jailed for 15 months. He stabbed his ex-partner with a fork in Jarrow last November.

20, of Bywell Grove, Shiremoor, has been locked up for eight months for grievous bodily harm without intent.

He kicked and badly injured a police officer when she tried to arrest him in April 2016.

42, of Park Road, South Moor, pleaded guilty to five counts of being concerned in the supply of heroin. He was sentenced to six years and one month in prison.

34, of Blanche Terrace, Tantobie, pleaded guilty to two counts of being involved in the supply of heroin. She was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison.

42, of Park Road, South Moor, pleaded guilty to three counts of being concerned in the supply of heroin. He was sentenced to three years and one month in prison.

35, of Urpeth Terrace, Pelton, pleaded guilty to two counts of being involved in the supply of heroin. He was sentenced to two years and seven months in prison.

43, of Tennyson Gardens, Dipton, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to supply drugs and being concerned in the supply of heroin.

He was sentenced to one year and four months in prison.

24, of Ouston Street, Scotswood, Newcastle, has been jailed for two years and 10 months.

Graham pleaded guilty to a total of 12 non-dwelling burglaries, three thefts, dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking and going equipped for burglary.

The offences took place in November, December and January in Gateshead, Newcastle and Corbridge.

34, of Haslett Avenue, South Shields has been locked up for 12-months. In April, he broke into a house and helped himself to food and cider before sleeping inside the householde­r’s bed. 33, formerly of Sheepfolds, Sunderland has been jailed for four years and eight months. In 2015, Trott lured vulnerable teenagers into his caravan and plied them with drugs before abusing them. He was also convicted for three offences of handling stolen goods.

33, of Maud Terrace, West Allotment has been locked up for seven years and four months.

He and accomplice Martin Flemming burgled seven homes in Newcastle and Gateshead.

28, of Waterbeach Place, Slaytford, Newcastle has been jailed for seven years and 10 months after pleading guilty to six counts of dwelling burglary and one count of theft.

Flemming and fellow crook Paul Tullin took £200,000 worth of goods over six months, including jewellery and a £38,000 Mercedes car.

38, has been locked up for three years and two months. He was convicted of human traffickin­g charges after smuggling people into the North East where they were exploited into becoming forced labourers.

37, has been jailed for two years eight months for one count of human traffickin­g and one forced labour charge.

19, has been locked up for one year for one count of forced labour. 37, was jailed to six months for fraud by misreprese­ntation for her part in a human traffickin­g ring.

34, has been locked up for six months for fraud by misreprese­ntation at Leeds Crown Court for her role in a people smuggling operation.

36, of Northbourn­e Street, Gateshead will spend at least 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to murdering 23-year-old Craig Eade in Gateshead.

Mr Eade’s body was found in a bin in March. Serial burglar Watkins confessed to the crime while already in police custody in connection with another burglary. Police officers made the grim discovery in a back lane off Northbourn­e Street on March 1.

40, of Newmarket Walk, South Shields has been jailed for four and a half years after admitting fraud by false representa­tion. Uddin and his accomplice, Saeed Laskar, conned more than 50 elderly people out of cash by pretending to be police officers.

of Palmerston Street, South Shields, has been locked up for four years. Laskar and Shuhel Uddin swindled money from elderly people by pretending to be police officers checking bank notes.

51, of Lesbury Avenue, Shiremoor, has been jailed for 21 months. He was snared by Dark Justice trying to meet a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl who he sent explicit messages to.
