Use bins for their correct purpose

-

COUNCILS provide separate street containers for both dog faeces and rubbish. May I suggest that the public refrain from filling the doggy bins with plastic bottles and cardboard etc., and possibly vice versa?

VERA CRANMER, Battle Hill IF the police service is running short of funds, then it is far better that precious taxpayer funds are used to support frontline policing.

Unfortunately, at the moment, despite the fact that a) a referendum has never been called over whether Police and Crime Commissioners should have been established and b) during their elections, a majority of the electorate showed contempt (i.e. they didn’t even vote) towards the BROKEN kerbstones here and there But not a lot of room to spare If I cross here take a chance May lead that driver a merry dance Kerbs too high ramps too steep With little care and workmen’s heap The challenge is never to say no To where I can or cannot go Able-bodied friends may not see The problems faced by you and me Spare a thought for that friend in need They may welcome help from you indeed To travel this fine city with lots of care But give thought to person in wheelchair That forward-looking guide-doguser PCCs, the taxpayer is being called upon to provide a generous salary and expense allowance to individuals such as Vera Baird. I don’t know about anyone else, but I would much prefer to see the salaries of the PCCs spent on front-line policing. After all, we don’t Or workmen’s sign down, ankle bruiser Please do not just stand and stare Lend a hand and show you care Talk to a friend they may be low Raise their spirits as you go Along life’s pathway as you tread With pleasant thoughts or dreams to spread Of happiness good health - then on your way While passing through another day That friendly cat, that bird in song Assistance dog as it walks along Neighbour rests on his rocking chair To view his work after lots of care.
